Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need prior paddleboarding experience?

No experience is necessary! Our boards are designed for stability, making them easy for beginners to use. Our team will provide tips to help you get started. (We suggest a Quick Lesson, Private Lesson, or ECO Paddle and Lesson for First Timers, but NOT Required)

What should I bring?

We recommend bringing sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, and a towel. You may also want to bring water and snacks to enjoy during your paddle.

What happens if it rains?

We continue with lessons in light rain, but if there is lightning or severe weather, we will reschedule your lesson for another day. Your safety is our top priority!

Is there parking available?

Yes, we offer free parking at our meeting points, including our Sunrise Paddleboards Showroom.

Things to Know

Arrive Early: Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your rental time for setup and brief instructions.

Wear Comfortable Clothing: Dress in lightweight, water-friendly clothing, and bring sandals or water shoes for easy movement.

Physical Requirements: Paddleboarding is a low-impact activity, but participants should be comfortable standing and paddling on the board.

Stay Hydrated & Protected from the Sun: Bring sunscreen, a hat, and a water bottle to stay comfortable during your paddle.

Paddleboard Yoga

If you’re wondering why someone would choose to do yoga on a wobbly surface like a stand-up paddle board, you’re not alone. Let's start with the wobbly thinking: Our boards are built to be stable making it Fun and Easy to Learn How to "Stand Up" on a Paddle Board. Once you give it a try, doing yoga on a paddle board is not as hard as it looks, and it even offers opportunities that a land-based practice doesn’t. SUP yoga can be a delightful way to experience nature and invigorate your yoga practice!

We offer Private Classes by advanced reservations or you can join Coastal Yoga & Nutrition at Sunrise Paddleboards for a Sunday Funday! We’re proud to share our practice and teachings with you in a way that is creative, nurturing, challenging, and most importantly super fun! Challenge your balance and mind floating on a paddle board! Closing our practice with a serene floating shavasana, which aims to guide you into a deep meditative state. Our favorite part!

Get inspired with your postures while floating on the water: Downward Facing Dog, Plank, Chataranga, Up Dog, or drop your head and see the river upside down in your best headstand. As you attempt more challenging balancing postures, you will begin to add a whole new element of core strength, single-pointed concentration, and intense focus.

Sunrise Paddleboards neighbors the delicious Myapapaya, feel free to indulge in some yummy and healthy food after class! With the fresh breeze, beautiful palms, iguana, nature, and tropical birds this will be a true feeling of heaven on earth and bring you to a new level of mind, body, and spirit. It's a healthy activity that gets you outside and moving your body. Class includes Instructor - Beginners are welcomed and encouraged or we can challenge the most advanced by request.
